| Oops, Apple Loses Another iPhone Photo |
|
|
An Apple employee in San Francisco has apparently lost an iPhone 5 prototype at a Mission district bar. The incident, which happened in July, was revealed earlier today exclusively by CNet.
According to the report, the unnamed employee lost the iDevice at “Cava 22, which describes itself as a “tequila lounge” that also serves lime-marinated shrimp ceviche.”
However, the unreleased iPhone wasn’t lost for long. It may have been sold on Craigslist for $200.
One many recall the story of the missing iPhone 4 from 2010.
Last year’s prototype iPhone went missing when Robert Gray Powell, an Apple computer engineer who was 28 years old at the time, left it in a German beer garden in Redwood City, Calif.
In early August, San Mateo County prosecutors filed misdemeanor criminal charges against two men, Brian Hogan and Sage Wallower, for allegedly selling Powell’s iPhone 4 prototype to Gawker Media’s Gizmodo blog. An arraignment is scheduled for tomorrow.
In this case, neither Apple nor Craigslist is talking. The San Francisco Police Department would only say Apple did not file a police report based on the loss at the bar.
The iPhone 5 is expected to arrive to the public sometime this fall according to numerous rumors.
